Bell Tower Church

Stavros Eleftheriou

Kabana was founded by Stavros Eleftheriou in 1975, a true American success story. At the age of twenty two, Stavros came to America with only $60 in his pocket. In Albuquerque, New Mexico, he befriended a craftsman who taught him the ancient art of inlay.  Inspired by the sea and the colors of his homeland, Mykonos, Greece, Stavros began his own jewelry design house.  He named it Kabana – the Greek word for bell-after the bell tower in the old church that was converted into his factory.  This historic building is now home to the skilled goldsmiths and craftspeople that make Kabana’s distinctive Collections.  Kabana, renowned and undisputed Master of Inlay, is one of the few jewelry manufacturing companies in the United States that does not outsource any portion of their product.  From the drawing table to finish, each piece is produced entirely in the United States. Their artisans not only utilize the traditional methods of inlay but take it to new heights of expertise. It is the combination of contemporary design, time-honored methods and their state of the art production facility that results in Kabana’s Collections.

Kabana stays faithful to the old traditions of handmade jewelry.  However, to ensure and maintain their reputation for high precision and the quality of their product, Kabana employs the latest in technology with high tech machines and tools.  Their almost non-existent personnel turnover has enabled them to train employees for many years, turning them into masters of skill.

Kabana will always be their greatest competitor, as they continue to pursue the ultimate, the unique, and the extraordinary.
